1-to-1 Consulting

WHAT IS AN ADDICTION? WHAT WERE MY OWN? ARE THEY CURABLE?

DISCLAIMER:

All information you find on the Obese Release Asia website was done through vigorous research, but I also include my own opinions and experience on any discussed topic. My opinion may differ from your opinion. Keep this in mind. Regardless of opinion, do not forget that I have achieved amazing results by following the principles discussed throughout the website and on my program. Simply put, regardless of our opinions, the results speak for themselves.

WHAT IS AN ADDICTION? HOW DO WE DEFINE IT?

There are many ways to define an addiction and some definitions can be found below:

“Addiction is a neuropsychological disorder characterized by a persistent and intense urge to use a drug, despite substantial harm and other negative consequences. Repetitive drug use often alters brain function in ways that perpetuate craving, and weakens self-control.”

“Addiction is a treatable, chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among brain circuits, genetics, the environment, and an individual's life experiences. People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviors that become compulsive and often continue despite harmful consequences.”

In my own experience, I would define an addiction as something I constantly craved and would strive to have, despite knowing that it caused me harm. It would bring me some form of pleasure and I felt like taking part in my addiction would help me forget the pains of life. I thought my addictions would de-stress me and make me happier. I would continue my addictions despite hearing the advice from loved ones and those I cared about, regarding their harmful effects. I wouldn’t care about the consequences.

WHAT WAS I ADDICTED TO?

I was sadly addicted to many things which are listed below:

  1. Smoking: I had been a heavy smoker for at least 18 years of my life.

  2. Drinking alcohol: While not a true alcoholic, I craved booze and drank whenever I could.

  3. Caffeine in the form of coffee: I used to drink 6 – 8 cups of coffee a day due to my work (different time zones) and also since I eventually felt I had no energy without it.

  4. Sugar: This is something the vast majority of obese people are addicted to, whether they admit it or not. I craved sugar constantly and tried to eat sugar in its various forms throughout the day.

  5. Video games / computer games: This is something I was severely addicted to, and I spent most of my free time playing games and trying to lose myself in a fantasy world in order to escape the challenges of the real world.

ARE ADDICTIONS CURABLE?

Absolutely! While there exist many methods to seek treatment for addictions, I used my own way based on the principles of intermittent fasting. I applied them to my addictions and was able to give them all up in the matter of only a few weeks, which absolutely shocked me. I haven’t touched any of my addictions for the past 3 years! I call this method “A Time Restricted Lifestyle.”

You will learn all about it in my videos and in the Obese Release Asia Program.
