DISCLAIMER:
All information you find on the Obese Release Asia website was done through vigorous research, but I also include my own opinions and experience on any discussed topic. My opinion may differ from your opinion. Keep this in mind. Regardless of opinion, do not forget that I have achieved amazing results by following the principles discussed throughout the website and on my program. Simply put, regardless of our opinions, the results speak for themselves.
WHAT IS A KETOGENIC DIET?
Simply put, a ketogenic diet changes the energy source our body uses from carbohydrates to fat. Ketones to be precise. Carbohydrates turn into glucose, which is the energy our body normally uses. If we stop eating carbohydrates, and use fat as energy instead, our body starts producing ketones, and uses that instead of glucose.
In a ketogenic diet, you minimize the amount of carbohydrates you consume per day to 50 grams or less (in some cases as low as 20 grams). You eat a large quantity of healthy fat from various sources and a moderate amount of protein.
The entire purpose of a ketogenic diet is to eventually put your body into ketosis. This means that your body is fully fat-adapted and uses fat as an energy source instead of carbohydrates. Ketones are produced by your liver as it breaks down fatty acids and then used as the primary new energy source. The great benefit of this for obese people or those looking to lose weight, is that it will help your body focus on eventually using your own excess body fat as fuel instead of carbohydrates that you were consuming. To make things even better, this type of diet also helps you lose your sugar addiction, since you cannot eat sugar anymore.
The images below show the types of food that someone on a ketogenic diet can consume and where they get their energy from:
CAN IT HELP OBESE PEOPLE?
Ketogenic diets are great, but my personal opinion is that diet alone is not good enough. The methodology of using fat as fuel is perfect for someone who is obese, but again if we are constantly eating throughout the day, and spiking our insulin regularly, it will not help us. Remember that obese people have damaged bodies that need a great deal of repairing in order to get healthy again. We need to decrease our eating frequency and slowly let go of our addictions (especially food addictions) in order to make a keto diet work well for us.
We also need to understand that high fat meals are extremely dangerous when mixed with lots of simple sugars, so sugar consumption needs to be reduced to practically nothing.
All this takes time and effort. That is why a systematic approach is needed, instead of trying to just jump into any kind of diet, keto or not.
The combination of intermittent fasting + ketogenic diet + exercise will work wonders for anyone who is obese and serious about losing weight.
I lost over 50 kg or 110 pounds in only 3 months by working on a systematic approach for combining ketogenic diets, along with intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting and various intensities of exercise (both aerobic and anaerobic). The transformation thumb from my YouTube channel is below:
